The entire scenario re Platner has disturbed me. My first instinct was to believe Jenny Racicot, but I was troubled by the inconsistencies in her claims. Any attempt to voice my skepticism was immediately shot down with, “I guess you’ve never been raped” (which is thankfully true) and far uglier responses. Ryan Grim was pilloried when he questioned Politico’s omission of the “glutes massage” message, as was Ken Klippenstein. I’ve seen what’s happened to candidates who don’t support Israel, and the claims by Racicot seem a little too convenient to me.

As I can always expect from you, my friend, you lay out a good reason for my skepticism. Something is fishy.

GenXGirl1994's avatar

Highly fishy Susan. And I’ve been watching the same attacks on anyone who questions the holes, omission, etc of the story. Particularly on men. I was actually annoyed by how many times Sagar & Ryan repeated their affirmations for supporting victims (I was like okay okay we get it) but then when I saw how they got attacked, I understood why men feel they have to do that. This whole thing is such an awful reality check of how the dark side knows how to push the trigger button. Everyone loses their minds.

Susan Becraft's avatar

Isn’t it ironic that Tara Reade’s claims against Joe Biden resulted in *her* being pilloried?

GenXGirl1994's avatar

Yup. The hypocrisy.

Texas Strikes Back's avatar

Since CNN was purchased by Ellison/Israel, they’ve aired a slew of fake stories. They made up the bullshit story about men trading info on a rape website, which was created by Israel and shown to be fake. They also aired a story about rape festivals in Nigeria, which was another Israeli made, bullshit story. CNN is a tool of Israel, and nothing more.

Kris's avatar

I find the research very helpful as an explanation - and thanks for including the info about Oct 7 and Israel’s use of rape allegations as propaganda .

GG's avatar

It will be interesting to see if Ms. Racicot's fortunes improve greatly after all of this is forgotten. I don't know much about the accuracy of polygraph testing, but I wonder if it would be helpful if both Platner and Racicot would agree to be polygraphed.

Susan Becraft's avatar

Is it true that Ms Racicot’s therapist has been given permission to speak? If what I read is accurate, I’m a little confused as to why the therapist hasn’t made a statement, given that Ms Racicot’s memories “recovered/improved” during therapy. I don’t deny that can happen, but everything seems a little too convenient.

And I also wondered about her future fortunes.

I confess to being the ultimate cynic, and this story has left me with too many questions to be believable.

GG's avatar

The therapist would need lots of waivers to talk - HIPPA law etc.

BIG WILD MIND MACHINE's avatar

polygraphs have long been deemed unreliable. they yield both false negatives and positives.

Kris's avatar

I was attacked repeatedly for any ?s about the allegations and the haste.

Susan Becraft's avatar

So was I. Several people I thought were friends blocked me.

Marianne Lombardo's avatar

I ended a thirty year friendship with a woman that was so adamant that Hamas raped. when I questioned the evidence, she was appalled. Even the VP repeated these unsubstantiated lies used to dehumanize brown men. Yet, hardly a peep when Proven rapes from IDF.

Susan Becraft's avatar

I’ve ended three longstanding friendships since Trump swanned down the escalator in 2015. The first ended when a friend accused me of catastrophizing when I said that Trump would be the downfall of the US. My friend never spoke to me again. The other two ended when I used the word GENOCIDE and when I asked for evidence about the burned babies and the rapes by Hamas. It still shocks me that anyone believes these rumors, but my ex-friends believed Biden, Harris et al. (Maybe we had the same friend!)

Ohio Barbarian's avatar

We know for a fact that Trump is a pedophile and a rapist, not to mention a foreign agent, and the Democrats won't even try to impeach him over it, but they feel they are morally required to believe a woman who has changed her story at a very convenient time, and tear at their hair and rend their garments over it to prove how much they Believe women.

That said, Platner probably really did it. If he hadn't, he should have responded with incandescent fury and righteous denial. At least, I know I would have done that.

None of this changes the fact that you did great journalism here.

GenXGirl1994's avatar

The whole thing stinks. If people truly want to support women, then encourage her to file charges. But to destroy someone at a convenient time and not file charges? This whole movement is twisted.

Ohio Barbarian's avatar

Personally, I always liked the old Roman penalty for rape. The state found the rapist guilty. Then he was declared outlaw, or beyond the protection of the law, and released at a designated time and place.

Where the victim’s family would be waiting.

The Celts would bury a rapist face down in a crossroads, to insure his soul didn’t go to any sort of pleasant place, or come back to haunt the living.

It is a real crime that women must fear coming forward immediately after the event, so hard evidence can convict the SOB before he can hurt another woman.

That culture of fear does have to go, but we cannot afford to sacrifice the right to due process in that quest, for if we do, we will never get there.

Texas Strikes Back's avatar

CNN is owned by Israel. You can’t trust a fucking thing they put out.

Red's avatar

Thank you for this considered , well-thought out piece. We all need to zoom out and see the forest through the trees. This is what the powerful establishment does to candidates they deem threatening from the progressive wing. This is their M.O. This is the playbook. And we are all biting, hook, line and sinker.

GenXGirl1994's avatar

Thank you. And yes, unfortunately, this is the world we live in. Folks will come to realize what happened but like always, it will be too late.

Margaret's avatar

I am a rape survivor and believe women but I think Platner should have vehemently denied the allegations and stayed in the race and tried to force the party to back him. There are more inconsistencies in Racicot ‘s story. She says there was a moment when she realized that this was not my choice. That implies that before that moment it was her choice. Then she went into the bedroom and he followed her. She implied that they had sex. She says she opted not to resist based on fears of violence. Platner could have taken this as consent. Furthermore she let him sleep over. She said he was too drunk to drive but she could have driven him home. For that matter she could have called the police on him while he was sleeping if she really thought she was raped.

Then there is Lyndsay Fifield stating that Platner removed his condom six times during sex. It’s hard to believe that anyone would be that gullible to allow this to happen six times without doing something about it. Fifield seems smarter than that. Both Lyndsay and Jenny are working with Cheyenne Hunt who is a lawyer who was part of the group that brought Swalwell down. But I think Swalwell deserved it while Platner was the target of a coup. It’s a tragedy all round.

GG's avatar

Very good points. Thank you for posting this. If Platner was black out drunk, I do wonder if he would be able to get an erection - that also makes me say hmmm

Chrisandra DeVohs's avatar

Well thought out ... thank you! I agree with everything you said.

DMarlene's avatar

So appreciate your journalism and insight on this. I've found it disconcerting that everyone has jumped to convict Platner on allegations that have been drummed up to fever pitch with pro-Zionist handlers. Let's also remember what happened to Karim Khan and Julian Assange. False allegations of sexual assault to bring people

down.

In terms of the "need someone to massage my glutes" text, my understanding is she also told him not to come over after he said he would be coming over. Has that been confirmed because if she did say "don't come over" then that's a very clear signal from her and he shouldn't have come over.

My immediate red flags were the fact that Politico and Tapper and the NY Times are so pro-Zionist that this fit the pattern of smearing, in addition to her stating he was not a nice man only a few weeks ago and then suddenly converting it to sexual assault and rape right before he was to file his Senate candidacy. Plus she hired a PR firm?

Thanks once more for this incredible reporting. I think we'll see more revelations in years to come. And not by mainstream media. But the damage is done. Platner had no choice but to suspend. His blood was in the water and sharks were circling.

GenXGirl1994's avatar

Thank you. Regarding the glute text, yes, she did say not to come over after that text. The reason I highlighted that part is because Politico omitted it from the reporting even though she disclosed it. Why? Because it didn’t fit the narrative they were pushing. They wanted fast emotional reaction. They got it. I’m not disparaging her claims. But the proper thing to do is file charges. She still hasn’t.

Xirathi's avatar

Before reading this, I assumed the statue of limitations was over. But it's 20 years and she seems to have no intention of actually pressing charges. Sus.

GG's avatar

One can also sue for slander - perhaps Platner should do that. Especially if Ms. Racicot's fortunes suddenly improve a great deal. That is something to watch for. What's in her for her?

Kris's avatar

And she left door unlocked - even though she had the text interaction , knows he’s intoxicated - but leaves door unlocked or alter natively lets him in. I think there were reasons she didn’t report , but if she felt she was raped , she should’ve reported it.

? On the therapist , are you saying she reported to therapist within the time Frame he was a candidate , and not 2021?

DMarlene's avatar

She provided a JUNE 2026 email to her therapist as proof that she was discussing with her therapist. Incredibly poor and questionable "journalism" that buried that fact. Politico is strong pro-Israel ally whose owner has told its staff look for jobs elsewhere if you don't support Israel:

https://truthout.org/articles/politico-boss-reportedly-demands-allegiance-to-israel-from-editorial-staff/

And then you have the NY Times and CNN Tapper. They had great reason to lie and smear. They did their job very well.

Kris's avatar

Yes - I just think even if the reporting was accurate , it immediately was reframed to “he raped her. She reported to her therapist AT THE TIME.”

And they’re relying on the Christine BF allegations - which are wholllllly different than this one. I literally got ridiculed for bringing forth the long time line of the Kavanaugh/CBF sexual assault . And that she was a minor , in the 70s-80s. That she reported to many people including therapists long before K ever nominated . Her allegations dated back to 20th century thought they did not come to public light until many years later, 2018(?)

i also return to many minors , their parents , and young adult women getting in to LE with reports of Epstein et al activities in the 90s and early 2000s. Minors, and very young adults- thousands of reports.

It’s also different than the Swalwell allegations. And the Franken allegations .

It just starting to look like a 41 yo woman seizing a financial opportunity.

now - were supposed to see a pattern between the Collins emp allegation , and this one that got reported in June ‘26. I can see why the therapist isn’t commenting.

Yes - I Immediately was thinking Tapper! Always around to know a Dem down when you need it.

One thing I wondered last night - can he sue the DNC for withholding funds(?)

To me - believe women means LE need to believe women, and friends and family do- and you get your butt into the police stn. It does not mean the general public grabs their pitchforks and proceeds to mete out justice.

GG's avatar

Unless the rape allegation was proven to be false, he was at great risk of losing female voters. He and Collins were polling almost evenly. Not a good situation. The timing of the allegation stinks of a hit job.

Gwen Casteal Buckingham's avatar

It's the deleted texts that get me. I don't believe there was any. Because as a women in that situation you would never delete texts that prove an assault, that just doesn't happen. I believe this was a smear campaign and your article proves it, at least to me. The democrats didn't want him in office, it's that simple. He is just too big of a threat to the status quo. We finally had a real progressive in a state that would have really made a difference and poof, all hope is gone. We can't even have hope anymore because it's always dashed by our own fucking party. We don't even need the republicans to fuck things up our own party is doing just great at that. I hate it here.

Texas Strikes Back's avatar

The democrats are not your party. They always have and always will, do the bidding of the ruling class. People need to understand that the two parties are the enemy of the people.

J-Pat : Jason Patrick Quinn's avatar

It’s an obvious Politico/NYT/CNN/DNC hit job. The timing is too convenient. Just enough time for a convention where Dem operatives choose a new candidate without there being enough time for another primary contest. If it was a right-wing job they’d have waited until after the deadline so the Dem campaign would be a disaster. Politico’s article also insinuates that the emails between Radicot and her therapist were “contemporaneous- just after” the alleged assault. In fact, as revealed by the WAPO the emails were only from June : importantly that’s AFTER his campaign began. They also neglected the “glutes massage” texts which is a massively important piece of context.

That being said, he probably did do it, and is absolutely unsuitable to be a candidate. However it shouldn’t have come to this, when there were other things that should’ve disqualified him months ago. His initial lies about his employment by Blackwater, for whom he chose to do three separate contracts in Iraq where he undoubtedly committed war crimes. It was an illegal invasion, war and occupation for starters. He’s also boasted about his exploits, including deadly violence, against Iraqi civilians. Then there’s his lies about not knowing his Totenkopf tattoo was an SS nazi symbol. I was in the Army, i’m a veteran, everyone knows exactly what those tattoos mean. Those lies should’ve been enough, ESPECIALLY for so-called “Progressives”, to show he was the wrong person to represent them in the Senate. how can he be trusted if he’s willing to lie about those things?

Kris's avatar

Oh my GOD - that’s a ? I had- that therapist communique is reported or believed to be contemporaneous - 2021, and in reality it didn’t occur until he was a candidate !!!

OTOH/IMHO's avatar

If he were a man of political conviction, he never should have withdrawn, having denied the allegations: the Rock of Gibraltar is not moved because someone disses it.

GenXGirl1994's avatar

The DNC cut funding, access to voter lists, access to donation portals. He couldn’t continue. Personally, I would’ve burned the seat for Dems so next time, they know not to react based on allegations and no charges with law enforcement.

GG's avatar

Don't blame you for saying that. Maybe Platner is virtuous and wants the Dems to win that seat. He has not officially resigned yet - I think he is trying to use that as leverage to help pick his replacement.

Kris's avatar

Please, let us learn something from this event .

Mr. Raven's avatar

He should stay in and not campaign to fuck the Democrats who screwed him over. You know the Dims will just pick some Zionist female to replace him, and claim sexism if you don’t vote for her. They are so transparent at this point.

Connie Farnham's avatar

I was a blackout drunk. I stopped drinking over 15 years ago, but at the time, I could not have told you what I had done. I do know that if someone had said that I did something that wasn’t in my character (like hurting an animal), I could have said that I did not do that, but could not have said what I did do. It sounds like that’s what happened with Graham. I believe that is why he withdrew, he couldn’t defend what he didn’t remember.

He was regularly meeting with Zio-Jews (again like Zorhan). He was just grifting for a career but flew too close to the sun with his strategy

Kris's avatar

Thank you so much - I thought I was going crazy , and today read this and 2 others articles . I sense that this will become a much discussed political event going forward , as more details emerge.

Chrisandra DeVohs's avatar

I agree with you: "this will become a much discussed political event going forward, as more details emerge."

I thought I was the only female who saw that Platner was basically be railroaded on flimsier evidence than what Tara Reade had against Biden!

Either it is "believe all women", or it is not ... it can't be based on who the allegations are against: status quo like Biden and Cuomo, every one was making excuses and wanting more evidence ; then, when it comes to progressives like Franken and Platner, it's major tar & feather time!

The hypocrisy/double standards is what REALLY riles me up!

Mr. Raven's avatar

Fantastic investigative journalism, thanks for doing the work the (((legacy media))) deliberately avoids.

Shoktona's avatar

if you remove someone who got 72% of the primary vote, what is the decision process for the replacement? I don’t trust the DNC

Zachariah Overton's avatar

Of course these allegations are weaponized and questionable. He’s getting Jeremy Corbyn’d. Platner worked for black water and bragged about doing horrible things, I personally would never have supported him, but the timing and the interview with the accuser before this is enough for me to say he’s being railroaded. We will not change things through the American electoral system. Thank you for your work!

Margaret's avatar

I want to clarify that I do believe Jenny but I don’t think a charge of rape would hold up in court. I think a jury would find that Platner could have believed in his drunk state that she consented. All considered I don’t believe that Platner could be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Kris's avatar

This situation is way too messed up to believe either one .

Dean R's avatar

Thanks I had same suspicions regarding bias, alleged victim changing story and reporting one side of story by most MSM unfortunately we don't seem to have MSM news outlets willing to be objective about Israel and politicians that chose to have critical views of it, even MS Now jumped on the bandwagon of forgone conclusions.

Chrisandra DeVohs's avatar

Thank you for a well-documented timeline! I'm sharing this!
